Hey guys, long time no blog! I hope everybody had an amazing Thanksgiving last week. Sorry I’ve been MIA; I took a month long break from social media for my birthday month. I’ve never taken a break before from social media (didn’t really think I could haha) and found that it was very refreshing to my soul. I was more present in the moment with the people around me and I got to focus 100% on things I needed to get done. However, I did miss you guys and missed sharing my moments with you! So without further ado, let’s jump into my birthday dinner at TOCA.
My birthday diner at TOCA was nothing less than perfect. Well actually, it would’ve been “more than perfect” if I had time to brush my hair. I was still feeling the birthday pains from the amazing surprise my friends threw for me, so I didn’t even have the energy or time to get ready. My hair was literally still wet on the way over there as I vowed to never drink again lol But thankfully, as soon as Ben and I got to TOCA, my spirits were instantly lifted and I felt energized.
We were promptly greeted by the manager who was friendly and welcoming. She sat us to our booth. I love that TOCA has these round booths that look futuristic and a very warm atmosphere. The server was just as friendly and sweet as the manager. I find that a lot of the higher priced restaurants have servers who are professional but distant and cold. At TOCA, they are professional, knowledgeable and very warm and inviting.
The food at TOCA was spectacular! However, I was thankful that we ordered two appetizers as the portions are small. That’s okay though because I would rather have quality than quantity anyways! My favourite would have to be the lobster Caprese salad. The lobster was fresh and all the ingredients together made a symphony of deliciousness in my mouth. Furthermore, the halibut was perfectly cooked, flaky and moist. Here are some pictures:
What I loved most about TOCA was their cheese cave. The manager was kind enough to give us a tour and she provided information on every cheese in there. TOCA has the only cheese cave in a restaurant in all of North America and also has some of the best cheeses in the world! So of course we had to order the cheese plate. Lancaster in particular was incredible!! It won “the best cheese” award at the England cheese festival. So were the other two that we got which was Manchego (the basket woven cheese from Spain) and Amarone (a “drunken” cheese made in Italy with the Amarone wine) In addition, TOCA made me a beautiful birthday dessert platter to add to the perfect dining experience.
In conclusion, I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner. I want to thank Ben for outdoing himself again this year. Thanks for always going above and beyond boo! I also want to thank my squad, my best friends Ben and Michelle and to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and made it so special for me this year. I feel so blessed and humbled to have the love and support that I do from you all and couldn’t be more grateful. Thanks so much for reading and see you next week!❤️
