Not all fashion trends have to come from the runway. However, as soon as a style steps off a few runways, it seems to pop up everywhere. First you see it all over magazines, then your Instagram feed and finally all over the streets. Then you’ll find yourself on the search for the perfect piece. Therefore, I thought it would be fitting to do a post on this year’s summer trends, especially now that the weather in Toronto is finally starting to feel like summer. Well, the 80’s are back and so is utilitarian chic. And here are some of my other favourites for this summer! (Disclaimer: please note that these pictures below are not my own and taken from the respectable websites)
GINGHAM STYLE op op op op op (sorry I had to🇰🇷)
I never really gave gingham much thought before until this summer. First, it kind of reminded me of a picnic table. Then, it reminded me of food, then the sun, then finally just plain old fun. And led me wishing the following pieces.
RUFFLE some feather with this trend
Ruffles ruled the runways for summer 2017, after the whole peplum craze and I couldn’t be happier. When put in the right place, they’re very flattering and feminine. Here are some of my faves!
can’t think of a pun, but STRIPES are in
Last but not least, stripes! I know it seems like stripes have been trendy for a long time. It’s one of those patterns that are classic and are here to stay. However, this summer’s stripe trend is all about being over the top; from head to toe. Therefore, it seems that the more stripes you have on, the trendier you are.
Well, that concludes this week’s fashion post on this year’s summer trends! Whether it’s something trendy at the moment or not, I know you’ll all be looking fabulous this summer. In addition, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is starting tomorrow so be sure to check out the deals! For my Canadians, the sale is only in store so happy shopping if you decide to check it out.
