Yesterday was the first day of summer and I couldn’t be happier. Summer has officially begun! When I think of summer, I immediately think of an all white outfit. White on white outfits are simple but chic and you always feel fresh in it. Not to mention you feel like you’re living on the edge whenever you eat or drink something. Now that the weather is finally starting to get warmer in Toronto, I made my way to Aritzia to find myself a suitable outfit. Just kidding, that’s just one of hundred excuses I give myself to go shopping.
Whenever I walk into Aritzia, it’s very easy for me to find outfits that I love. And that day was no different. Firstly, I fell in love with the scallop Arbre shorts. The scallop detail at the bottom of the shorts are so feminine and chic. They are also high-waisted which is flattering for all body types. I obviously got the shorts in white however it also comes in a taupe colour (Earl Grey) and black. Another feature that I love about the Arbre shorts is that it comes adorned with pockets. I just love pockets on clothes even though I don’t even use them most of the time. It just feels good knowing that they’re there. On the other hand, the only thing I don’t like about these shorts is that it wrinkles very easily. The shorts consist mostly of viscose and it is not forgiving.
Let’s move on to my favourite piece of the outfit, the Cayenne Knit top. I’m actually obsessed with this top. Now I know what you’re thinking: why am I wearing a knit top in the summer? The Cayenne consists of a light weight rayon which makes it light and breathable. What I love most about the shirt is that it is very versatile. You can tie the string at the back or the front. I personally like to wrap it around the back and simply tie it at the front. I find it gives the front more flair and keeps the back looking clean and simple. You can also style this cute top with a pair of culottes and look like the fashionista that you are.
In conclusion, I felt like I was getting in touch with summer in this outfit. I styled the outfit with my white Zara pumps to complete the white on white look. In addition, I wore my favourite Quay shades which literally goes with every outfit. I took this outfit to Yasu where Ben and I had the best sushi we’ve ever had in Toronto and also ate snapper testicles. Stay tuned for next week where I’ll be doing the restaurant review on Yasu. Just want to wrap this post up with a shoutout to Sarah (Instagram: @vivasvrvh) at the Aritzia at Fairview for being my fabulous stylist that day. As per usual, thanks so much for reading and see you next week! xx
